How to use this tool
- Enter coefficients a, b and c in ax^2 + bx + c = 0.
- Calculate the discriminant and both roots; a=0 is handled as a linear equation.
Things to know
- Uses floating-point arithmetic with a numerically stable real-root formula. Extremely large coefficients may exceed the supported range.
- Three finite numeric coefficients of at most 120 characters. Fixed arithmetic; nonfinite discriminants/roots are rejected.
- Use no more than 200,000 characters across the input and settings.
