APA is selected initially. It keeps short joining words such as of and the lowercase inside the title, and capitalises From because it has four letters. Chicago leaves from lowercase; choose a different style under Options when your publication requires it.

How to use this tool

  1. Paste a title, or put one title on each line.
  2. Choose APA, AP or Chicago. Short titles update automatically.
  3. Copy the result after checking names and words whose meaning depends on context.

Things to know

  • Applies common English title rules: APA 7, AP composition titles and Chicago 18. This is a rule-based aid, not a grammar checker.
  • Common phrasal verbs and AP infinitives are recognised; uncommon or ambiguous uses still need review.
  • With the keep option enabled, existing acronyms and mixed-case names are retained in mixed-case text. Fully uppercase titles are recased; check their acronyms afterwards.
  • APA lowercases minor words at the end; AP and Chicago capitalise the last word. Chicago 18 capitalises prepositions of five letters or more.
  • Each text input accepts up to 5 MiB. Output is limited to 25 MiB and combined text settings to 1 MiB.
  • Line-based modes accept up to 100,000 lines, including a trailing empty line.
  • Title conversion accepts at most 250,000 words per line.
